MY STORY

HOW MOVEMENT BECAME PART

OF WHO I AM

I wasn’t the sporty kid.

I tried swimming, volleyball and snowboarding when I was younger, but somewhere along the way I started believing that sport simply wasn’t for me. For years, movement wasn’t something I associated with confidence, ability or feeling good in my body.

That came much later.

I STARTED MOVING FOR ONE REASON. I KEPT GOING FOR ANOTHER.

Like many people, I initially approached exercise because I wanted to change the way my body looked.

But while living in Australia, something started to shift.

I began doing HIIT workouts. They were hard — sometimes probably harder than they needed to be — but I started noticing something I hadn’t expected: I felt different after moving.

Long walks around Bondi, workouts, challenging myself physically... movement was giving me more than physical results. I felt more energetic, more confident and more connected to myself.

For the first time, I became curious about what movement could do for us beyond appearance.

I WANTED TO UNDERSTAND WHY

At 32, I decided to go back to university and study Exercise and Sport Sciences.

I wanted to understand the body: how it moves, how it adapts, how we become stronger and why physical activity can have such a powerful effect on the way we feel — physically and mentally.

Over time, movement became a much bigger part of my life. I trained, became a Personal Trainer, started teaching others and even found myself running races and trails — something the younger version of me would probably never have imagined.

But my relationship with movement was still evolving.

THEN I DISCOVERED ANOTHER SIDE OF MOVEMENT

For a long time, movement had taught me how good it could feel to do: to challenge myself, progress and become stronger.

Then life brought me to a moment when doing more wasn’t necessarily what I needed.

In 2025, during a period of major personal change, I discovered Yin Yoga while looking for something that could help me slow down, manage anxiety and reconnect with myself.

And I found something I had been missing.

Stillness.

Time.

Space to notice what was happening in my body instead of always asking it to perform.

I trained as a Yin Yoga teacher, and gradually I began to understand that these two worlds didn’t contradict each other at all.

They completed the picture.

THE SLOW WAVES

Some moments in life ask us to build strength, challenge ourselves and move forward.

Others ask us to recover, listen and make space.

And most of the time, we need a little of both.

That is where The Slow Waves comes from.

Not from the belief that everyone should train in the same way, or that there is one perfect formula for being healthy and fit.

But from everything movement has taught me along the way: our bodies change, our lives change, and the way we move can change with them.

Today, as a Personal Trainer and Yin Yoga teacher, my role isn’t to turn you into someone else.

It’s to help you explore movement, understand your body and discover what makes you feel stronger, more capable and more connected to yourself.

Because I once believed movement wasn’t for me.

I just hadn’t found my way to move yet.
